Pesapal Integrates Visa to Mobile Mobile money Transactions Include Visa Payment Channel

Pesapal, the popular mobile money transaction app has made a move to integrate Visa into its payment systems. The move will see Visa become one of the options for online and mobile money payment for customers. Previously Visa used the mVisa for mobile money transactions. Their attachment to Pesapal gives the card company more exposure to their client base with twenty-one thousand businesses available, to use Visa now as a payment channel.

This will increase safety for customers who want to use cashless means of payment. It is flexible and convenient for both customers and businesses. The same integration will be implemented on the firm’s point of sale solution, Pesapal Sabi.

Currently, the Visa on mobile will be available to users in Kenya only as they continue to update their systems in other countries. For those Pesapal Sabi, for the changes to show, they will have to update their apps for the system to reflect the new changes.

Pesapal CEO, Mark Mwongela has affirmed that the core aim behind this new move is to, ‘Help businesses provide their customers with a variety of payment options to transact seamlessly and securely’. For businesses, several have started accepting Visa payments including DTSV, Zuku, Liquid Telecom and JTL. In hospitality among them are the Serena Hotels, Swahili Beach Resort, and Enashipai Resort and Spa. As for e-commerce business, Ticketsasa, Kipato Unbranded, and Greenspoon Kenya take the lead.
